The Indianapolis Colts are hoping to see the return of star running back Jonathan Taylor soon.

After being awkwardly tackled during the fourth quarter of the Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers , Taylor was diagnosed with a mild high-ankle sprain.

Taylor was inactive for the Week 5 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars after failing to log a single practice throughout the week.

Without Taylor in Week 5, the Colts lost 37-34 once again in Duval. Trey Sermon had 10 carries for 38 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown to go along with six receptions for 25 receiving yards. Tyler Goodson had five carries for 26 rushing yards while adding three receptions for 31 yards.

Given his history of ankle injuries in recent seasons, there is some concern about his availability against the Tennessee Titans in Week 6.

Entering Wednesday's practice, the first of the week, head coach Shane Steichen told reporters that Taylor is not expected to participate to begin the week.

This doesn't come as a major shock, but it does prove that this situation is far from over. The Colts may be giving Taylor an extra day of rest or the star running back is still working his way toward practicing again.

If Taylor is absent for a second consecutive game, the Colts will once again lean on the tandem of Sermon and Goodson in Week 6.

The Colts will release their injury reports throughout the week, but Taylor likely needs to log a practice Thursday in order to play against the Titans.
