I’ll bet the family’s attorney told them the city would settle with them and it will never go to court. Wrong. Probably told them in this current climate they would get a big pay out too. Wrong again.

The father is to blame for coddling and making excuses for his drug addict son. There is no self-defense claim when a criminal is committing a felony crime in progress while stabbing security and a police officer. "Rushing's dad, Scott Rushing, said his son was acting in self-defense." He got what he deserves... saved taxpayers a life time of payments.
