Braves vet predicted to get $25 million if Atlanta declines option

The Atlanta Braves currently aren't in the playoffs, but at least that gives them more time to prepare for the 2025 Major League Baseball season.

Atlanta didn't have the season it hoped in 2024, but it should be able to get back on track in 2025. The biggest reason why the Braves aren't still in the playoffs is injuries. They had a surprising amount of high-impact injuries and were unlucky.

Better health in 2025 is pretty much all the Braves need. They certainly will be busy this offseason, and the first thing they will have to do is make decisions on player options for the 2025 campaign. One player the club will have to make a choice on is left-handed reliever Aaron Bummer.

Bummer has a $7.25 million club option for the 2025 season. He appeared in 56 games with the Braves in 2024 and had a 3.58 ERA and a 69-to-18 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Bummer was very steady and so it wouldn't be shocking to see the club pick up his option.

If the Braves do decide to let Bummer hit free agency, he will be more expensive and is projected to get a $25.2 million deal over three years. He has a $7.25 million club option for 2025 and a $7.5 million club option for the 2026 season.

It seems like the Braves should just pick up his club option and bring him back in 2025 at least.
