Wisconsin basketball coach Greg Gard has many new faces in the locker room this season. With three new additions to his coaching staff and seven new players, including four freshmen and three transfers, there has been plenty of turnover.

The changes followed the first offseason of the portal era when the Badgers truly faced a shocking roster loss. UW was set to lose forward Tyler Wahl after exhausting his eligibility, and the decisions to transfer by now-former Badgers Gus Yalden , Connor Essegian , and AJ Storr were not complete surprises.

However, the initial offseason plan did not include replacing the production lost by three-year starting point guard Chucky Hepburn to the transfer portal.

Faced with replacing three starters from a season ago, Gard reshaped his roster, staff, and approach to recruiting.

In this podcast, Athlon Sports and All Badgers contributor Kedrick Stumbris explores his three big takeaways from Big Ten men's basketball media day in Rosemont, Illinois, and the Wisconsin men's basketball team's local media day.
