Swerve Strickland teased a potential alliance with former WWE Superstar MVP as AEW approaches WrestleDream 2024. Strickland, a former AEW World Champion, has not appeared on TV since his match at All Out. He faced Hangman Page in a brutal Lights Out Steel Cage match.

The match saw Hangman Page finally secure a victory over Strickland. Following the bout, Strickland’s manager, Prince Nana, provided an update regarding the former’s health. He stated that while Strickland puts in hard work every day, he has not received medical clearance to compete but remains determined to return.

MVP suddenly interrupted, criticizing Nana for not managing Strickland effectively and claiming Nana was too distracted by dancing. He handed Nana a business card and proposed a business discussion once Strickland was ready to return.

On AEW Dynamite last week, MVP appeared alongside Shelton Benjamin in a backstage segment. MVP hinted at the possibility of reuniting his former faction, The Hurt Business. As AEW prepares for its upcoming pay-per-view, WrestleDream, scheduled for this weekend, Strickland has dropped hints about teaming up with MVP.

Swerve Strickland to MVP: ‘Let’s talk business’

The latest edition of AEW Dynamite featured a significant announcement about Swerve Strickland. The show revealed that Strickland will return at AEW WrestleDream 2024 this weekend. After the announcement, Strickland took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share a photo of his return with the caption, “Let’s talk business,” hinting at a potential alliance with MVP.

As Swerve Strickland makes his highly anticipated return at AEW WrestleDream 2024, fans can expect him to be confronted by MVP. This segment may also feature the imminent debut of former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley, who has reportedly signed a contract with the promotion. Only time will tell what happens this weekend at AEW WrestleDream 2024 in Washington.
