Clay County Sheriff's Department Searches for Owner of "Mystery Horse"

The Sheriff's Department of Clay County is on the hunt for the owner of a mystery horse, according to a humorous post to the Clay County Sheriff's Department's Facebook page.

The picture of the horse was posted to the Facebook page on the evening of Tuesday, October 8th, along with a message that read, "Horse owners, listen up! We've got a mystery horse that's given one of our deputies a wild ride. Check your pastures and see if your spirited steed is MIA. Call the Sheriff's Office to reunite."

The post did not appear to receive much attention, prompting a second post from the Sheriff's Department with another, more pointed message. The second post read, "Alright y'all, let's get real - we didn't find a stray wallet, we found a whole dang horse! Share that last post and help us find its owner before we all go broke trying to horse-sit."

Though a commenter said the owner of the horse has been found, Clay County Sheriff's Department has yet to confirm.

UPDATE: At approximately 3 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9th, Clay County Sheriff's Department shared that "the prodigal horse has found its way back home."
