Drake Appears To Taunt Jay-Z Over Solange Elevator Fight, X Warns Him

Kendrick Lamar ‘s “Not Like Us” was arguably one of the summer’s best songs, but Drake may not have learned his lesson when taunting his rap peers on social media.

On Oct. 6, Drizzy took to social media, and fans think his latest jabs are at Jay-Z .

In one Instagram Story, he posted a photo of a peeved Solange , which just so happens to be a zoomed-in photo taken minutes after she slapped Jay-Z in the elevator of a NYC hotel. It happened back in 2014, and grainy footage leaked showed the two, alongside Beyoncé , entering an elevator. Solange immediately steps to Jay, and after hitting him, a bodyguard pulls her back. Before the video, there was a photo of the three leaving the event, showing an angry Solange, a stoic Beyonce, and Jay trailing in the background.

Jay has been able to stay out of controversy much of his career, but this is one of the few stains, and to this day, no one is really sure what the heated exchange was about. Now, it’s even weirder because no one is quite sure why Drake posted it.

The supposed antagonizing continued in the next Story when Drake published a photo of Aaliyah holding a dog, who also has ties to Jay-Z. According to Damon Dash, during an interview on the That’s F-cked Up podcast, they both tried to date her.

Drake and Jay have been frenemies for years despite having collaborated on several songs together. Their animosity eventually came to a head in a 2014 Rolling Stone article when Drake said, “It’s like Hov can’t drop bars these days without at least four art references.” Jay responded by calling him “Mrs. Drizzy” in a remix to “We Made It”; subtle shots have flown both ways ever since.

Social media users have jumped the gun on the IG Stories posts, warning Drake about punching above his weight class.
