The New York Giants will be without pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux after he underwent wrist surgery Wednesday, and it could be a multi-week issue.

Giants coach Brian Daboll announced that Thibodeaux needed surgery on a fractured bone in his wrist. The head coach characterized Thibodeaux’s injury as week-to-week.

A source told Dan Duggan of The Athletic that a typical recovery time is 4-to-6 weeks, though it is possible Thibodeaux can get back ahead of that window.

Thibodeaux had 11.5 sacks last year in something of a breakout campaign, though he only has two in five games this season. This injury probably eliminates whatever chance he had of achieving his lofty preseason statistical goal .

The Giants are coming off a surprising win over Seattle to move to 2-3 on the season, so this is something of a blow to them as they look to make a surprise run in the NFC East.
