The Huntington Town Board voted Tuesday to approve shifting a licensing agreement with the Paramount to Live Nation for use of town parking lots.

An agreement to allow the theater to use certain parking spaces was first signed in 2011, and then extended in 2018 for 10 years, for spaces in the upper Elm Street lot as well as the Town Hall lot and the commuter lot on the west side of Route 110.

Live Nation has acquired the theater from its Huntington founders, and the contract shift to Live Nation was described as pro forma.

The contract signed in 2018 set an annual rate of $16,000 for the first five years, and $19,000 per year for the second five years.

    The board also:

    • Approved an extension of the contract with the Long Island Farmers Market to continue operating on Sundays in the Elm Street parking lot. The contract originally was scheduled to end Nov. 17; it will continue until Nov. 24 under the extension. The market operates on Sundays from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
    • Appointed Karen Beck to the Asian American task force.
    • Approved a list of 32 professionals who will provide ice skating lessons  and instructional programs at the Clark Gillies Arena at the Dix Hills ice rink, from January through June.
