Garrett Nussmeier says this team is ‘going to challenge us’

Garrett Nussmeier spoke to the media about preparing to play Ole Miss.

How do you feel going into the game with Ole Miss?

Garrett: Obviously, it's an exciting matchup. They are a very good football team but I think we're focused on ourselves and just executing. We’re not worrying about the small things and just focusing on that it's another football game. You can't get lost in the hype, you can't get lost in all the extracurriculars. At the end of the day, it's a football game on our schedule and we're going to have to execute. Just like any other game, we want to win.

How important was the bye week in preparation for Ole Miss?

Garrett: It was a good opportunity last week in the bye to kind of go through my game the past couple weeks and pick out the negatives and continue to build off the positives. We also had a good opportunity last week with practice to work on those things and it was a balance of focusing on ourselves but also focusing on Ole Miss. So I think it was really good for us, not just for myself but for our entire offense in general.

You had some extra time to watch film on Ole Miss. What do you see from them?

Garrett: Obviously, they're a very good football team. They’re going to challenge us and it's going to be awesome. Games like this excite me and I’m pumped to get an opportunity to play against a really good football team. I think we've worked really hard at the details and focusing on the right things and so hopefully it'll pay off.
