SEYMOUR, Wis. — Kristi Anderson and Tegan Athey both notched second-place finishes at the Marinette/Peshtigo High School swimming team’s Bay Conference meet against Seymour on Tuesday.

Anderson swam the 100-yard backstroke event in 1:15.73, while Athey wrapped up the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:39.11, putting both Lady Marines in second place.

Marinette/Peshtigo’s duo also collected a pair of third-place times, with Anderson finishing the 100-yard freestyle in 1:08.13, while Athey completed the 200-yard individual medley in 2:51.81.

The Double A’s then joined Isy Stansbury and Ariana Wickman to place second in the 200-yard medley relay (2:43.89) and third in the 200-yard freestyle (2:21.24).

Stansbury added a third-place swim to her coffers in the 100-yard butterfly (1:32.79) and finished fourth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 34.41.

Wickman and Amilia Reed also swam the 50-freestyle, with Wickman (41.74) placing fifth and Reed (58.33) close behind in sixth.

Reed and Wickman gave the Lady Marines two fourth-place times after Reed swam the 100-yard freestyle in 2:11.91, while Wickman finished the 200-yard freestyle in 3:25.09.

Despite a solid all-around showing by Marinette/Peshtigo, Seymour’s advantage in numbers proved to be too much of a mountain to climb, as the Thunder racked up 114 points against just 30 for the Lady Marines.
