After continued warmer weather into October, it’s started to actually feel like fall in the Pittsburgh area.

And, for areas east of Pittsburgh, temps are dipping down enough to cause a frost advisory.

Areas under the frost advisory include Butler, Armstrong, Indiana, Westmoreland and Fayette Counties.

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh says the advisory is due to “the combination of light wind and a colder air mass.”

Areas near rivers in the Pittsburgh metro region may see frost as well, but the chance isn’t good enough for an advisory.

Cover vulnerable plants and trees that could be affected by the frost if you don’t want them damaged.
