The Detroit Tigers battled the Guardians of Cleveland on Thursday at Comerica Park in downtown Detroit during a 1-1 deadlock in the series.

Detroit got seven scoreless innings from five pitchers during the game as Manager A.J. Hinch's unique system of using multiple arms continued to impress MLB and Tigers fans alike.

The game marked Detroit's first home playoff game in ten years , and it came with a side of history making attendance figures according to the MLB on TBS broadcasting duo of Brian Anderson and Jeff Francoeur.

Anderson shared the official attendance figure as 44,885, a new playoff record for the field affectionately known as 'The CoPa' in downtown Detroit.

The Tigers led 3-0 heading into the bottom of the eighth inning as Will Vest struck out Lane Thomas of the Guardians.

Detroit retired the final seven batters in a row, closing it out and winning 3-0 on a record-setting day in Motown.

Game 4 of the series is scheduled for Friday at 6:08 p.m. ET. Game 5 back at Comerica Park, if necessary, is scheduled for Saturday at 4:38 p.m. ET in Cleveland.

Cleveland won 7 of 13 regular season games between the two teams heading into the postseason, with Hinch's team winning four of the last five.

Tanner Bibee is expected to get the start for Cleveland while Detroit's starter has not yet been announced.
