Bruce Springsteen Taking Part in Q&A Sessions at Special ‘Road Diary’ Screenings in New York and L.A.

Bruce Springsteen will take part in a pair of special screenings of the new documentary Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, before the film get its television premiere on October 25 on the Hulu and Disney+ streaming services. Billboard reports that The Boss will participate in Q&A sessions after Road Diary will be shown at private, invite-only events in New York City on October 15 and Los Angeles on October 21.

Following both screenings, Springsteen, his longtime manager/producer Jon Landau, and Road Diary director Thom Zimny will chat with Rock & Roll Hall of Fame chairman John Sykes.

The first event will be held at the Museum of Modern Art as part of the Rock Hall’s Screening Series. The second screening will take place at the David Geffen Theater at the Motion Picture Academy in L.A.

“Bruce Springsteen is one of the great artists and storytellers of our time,” said Sykes in a statement. “With this film, we hear firsthand from Bruce about how music has shaped his life and learn the story behind how his legendary E Street Band continues to redefine the live music experience for over five decades.”

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame launched the Screening Series in September 2023. The first movie shown was San Francisco Sounds: A Place in Time, a documentary about the Bay Area music scene during the late 1960s. The series showcases documentaries and other films focusing on artists who have been inducted into the Rock Hall.

As previously reported, Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band offers what’s being touted as “the most in-depth look ever” at the creation of the Boss and his group’s legendary concert shows.

The film captures Bruce and company preparing for and playing during their 2023-2024 world tour. It features behind-the-scenes clips at rehearsals, backstage and performance footage, and interviews with Springsteen and The E Street Band’s members. The doc is narrated by Springsteen, and also includes rare archival clips.

Road Diary got its world premiere in September at the Toronto International Film Festival. You can check out a trailer for the movie now at Hulu’s YouTube channel.

During a red-carpet interview at the festival, Zimny explained to Billboard what he wanted to achieve with Road Diary.

“I was hoping with the film to give the casual fan a sense of Bruce, but also the über fan approach,” he said. “What I wanted to show was there’s elements of a brotherhood that you see in how they first greet each other—nothing is staged, none of it is rehearsed.”

About Springsteen’s Upcoming Tour Plans

Springsteen and the E Street Band will wrap up their 2024 tour schedule with an eight-show Canadian. The trek kicks off October 31 in Montreal and runs through a November 22 concert in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The band also has 13 European concerts confirmed for 2025. Those shows are plotted out from a May 17 performance in Manchester, U.K., through a July 3 gig in Milan Italy.
