A cute orange cat was described as "aggressive," but the cat's new dad unveils how misunderstood this sweet kitten was.

On September 24, 2024, Ellie the Tabby (@ellie_thetabby) shared a video with more details on the sweet cat's history and why her true personality came out. Take a look!

In a sweet video, we meet Ellie, an orange Tabby cat who was very misunderstood, but she's not anymore.

"When the shelter said she was 'hyper and had aggressive tendencies," the text on the video read. In the clip, each new snippet of time shows this sweet cat as the absolute opposite.

In the first clip, Ellie is cozy and asleep in her parents' arms in the car, her belly up and her arms outstretched. Cats usually only sleep this way when they're really trusting, and she looks to be.

In the second clip, Ellie is sitting really cozy in the bed and about to take a nap. She's comfortable between two pillows and covered slightly by the blanket. She's so happy and calm here that she's making biscuits on the pillow and has the happiest eyes.

In the final part of the video, Dad is wearing a hoodie. The camera pans to just over his shoulder, and there's Ellie, sleeping soundly on his shoulder. Again, he is as calm, quiet, and happy as could be.

"Never believed it for a second," the video's caption reads. And in the comments section, others agreed.

One wrote, "She just didn’t like the shelter. Poor sweetie. Glad she is being loved and spoiled."

Another shared, "Super aggressive....be safe, sir, lol."

Someone else added, "She just needed to find her pride."

One shared, "She just needed love."

Another social media user wrote, "She was just stressed, frightened, abandoned, lonely and locked in a cage. Now she has her forever home and her forever person to love."

Is It Common for Orange Kittens to be Misbehaved?

There is a misconception that orange cats exhibit poor behavior, and it's a thing we hear often. They're "crazy," or "always wild," is something attributed to orange cats but is the stereotype correct?

According to Kinship , who spoke with an expert, a cat's fur color doesn't really affect its behavior.

“If anything, [the orange cat behavior phenomenon] is a great example of how good people are at finding patterns where they don’t actually exist,” cat behaviorist Kristiina Wilson told the publication.

“They hear or decide that orange cats act a certain way and when they do, the person makes note of it. But all the times they don’t act that way, their brains don’t really file the information away.”
