Deion Sanders, Colorado Looking to Flip Alabama's Five-Star QB Commit Keelon Russell

The Colorado Buffaloes have one of the best quarterbacks in all of college football in Shedeur Sanders, who happens to be the son of head coach Deion Sanders.

Shedeur ranks top 10 in the country in both passing yards and passing touchdowns, and also ranks No. 15 in completion percentage. However, barring an extremely surprising and head-scratching decision to stay, Sanders is likely NFL-bound after the season is over.

So, similar to Alabama who is also likely to lose their star quarterback, Jalen Milroe, the Buffs will be looking for a replacement for Sanders. While Deion Sanders heavily relies on the transfer portal to build his roster, a recent report by On3's Steve Wiltfong revealed he has his sights set on two five-star quarterbacks.

One that has been commonly linked to Colorado is USC commit Julian Lewis, who has visited Boulder multiple times. However, the other quarterback that they are after happens to be the top player in the Tide's class, Keelon Russell.

According to Wiltfong, Colorado, offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur went on down to Duncanville to see Russell.

While Wiltfong acknowledged it'd be a "tough" flip, he did report that Colorado is making a push to get Russell to visit.

"Coach Sanders and company want to sign an elite one from the high school ranks and Shurmur went out to see Alabama five-star commit Keelon Russell late last week at his school," Wiltfong wrote . "Russell will be a tough flip from the Crimson Tide but there has been dialogue and Colorado is trying to get him to campus as well."

Russell is one of four five-stars in Kalen DeBoer's first class as the head coach, and following the loss to Vanderbilt, it would be absolutely mayhem if Alabama lost Russell to Colorado.

Alabama or Colorado? what top recruit would have to think twice which program to join. you want to join a program that prepares players for next level and plays for national championship regularly, or join a circus.

Colorado will be better than Alabama in the coming years. Why go Alabama? What does it offer than Colorado can’t compete with. Deion has more resources & NFL connections!
