Through three races this fall, Anthony Lenzini has established himself as a top runner for his college team.

The Bishop O’Connell High School graduate is a sophomore on the Division I University of San Diego men’s cross-country squad.

Lenzini has been the second-place finisher for the Toreros in the two 8K races he has run. Lenzini finished 96th in 26:49 in one of the meets, 126th in 26:38 in the other.

Lenzini, who was born in San Diego, also runs for the college’s indoor and outdoor track and field teams as a distance runner during the winter and spring seasons.

At O’Connell , Lenzini was a standout in cross country and track and field. He won Arlington County and Virginia State Catholic cross-country meets his senior season.

During the outdoor spring track season that year, Lenzini won the 3,200-meter race at the Draper Invitational and was second at the distance in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference meet. During the winter indoor WCAC campaign, he won the 3,200.
