(KCTV) - Plenty of local businesses across Kansas City are seeing a spike in sales for Royals gear as the players take the field at Kauffman Stadium for game three of the American League Divisional Series.Although Royals fans love the play of Bobby Witt Jr. and Salvador Perez and every player repping the blue, Royals gear sale numbers do not compare to when they are playing in October.ShaninGanns in Shawnee, Kansas is one of those places that saw how much can change when the Royals are playing in the playoffs. Owner Kristina Gann-Albright said they saw a similar boom nine years ago when they were competing in the World Series.This year is a positive when it comes to checking people out at the front.“Although we all love our Witt and our Salvy, it’s very slow,“ she said about regular season versus playoff sales. ”I had all the Royals on clearance up until two weeks ago until all hell broke loose in the series and now we can’t keep the Royals stocked for the last week and a half.”Gann-Albright and her staff are constantly pulling down gear from hooks up high and stocking what they can on the racks below. Her 48 vendors that provide gear are working around the clock for more products.“They’re up until 4 o’clock in the morning making Royals apparel," she said.Fans of the boys in blue were checking out her shop throughout the day Wednesday.“As we’ve gone into the postseason, I’ve realized that most of my royals stuff is pretty outdated," said Jamie Sink.Sink said she was teaching a class for the Casa of Johnson and Wyandotte Counties organization Wednesday night when the Royals swept the Orioles in the Wild Card. (kctv)</figcaption></figure>“All of a sudden, half of the people in the class look at their watches and we’re all like, ‘ahh!’ we’re all cheering in the middle of a class because the Royals won and I really hope we repeat that [Wednesday]," she said.Angela Cowing said she’d spent hundreds of dollars already during the postseason run.“It’s what we want. We want this town to be successful in sports and everything else so this is fun,“ she said. ”I’ll drive anywhere."The Kansas City Chiefs' success only helped.“Now we are doing collaborations of Chiefs and Royals. The blue and red for Blue October on all the apparel so that’s what’s selling a lot right now," said Gann-Albright.And just how important is it to Gann-Albright that the Royals continue winning in October?“They better keep winning.
