Multiple Reports Reveal Truth About Major Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce Rumor

Football Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman dropped a bombshell on Wednesday about the relationship of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and pop megastar Taylor Swift.

Just a couple of days after Aikman referred to Swift as "the missus" during the Chiefs' "Monday Night Football" win over the New Orleans Saints, the 57-year-old NFL icon turned ESPN sportscaster revealed that the couple is now engaged.

On Wednesday, Aikman did an interview on Barstool's "Pardon My Take" podcast and, naturally, his recent declaration was a hot topic in the discussion. The Dallas Cowboys legend then decided to back up his claim by revealing that the couple have actually already taken a major step in their more-than-year-long relationship.

“I don’t know if I cursed them or not, but somebody actually reached out to me today and said that they might actually be engaged — so, I might’ve broke the story,” Aikman said.

Unsurprisingly, Aikman's major revelation took the internet by storm, with multiple outlets reporting the latest news about the NFL's power couple.

As it turns out, however, there's just no truth to the rumor -- at least according to TMZ's source.

"It’s not true and the recent erratic and unfounded speculation on this couple is just proving that media and overzealous fans do not know what’s going on with them and shouldn’t make wild assumptions based on zero facts," a source close to the couple told TMZ . "Two days ago everyone had decided they were broken up, now they’re allegedly secretly engaged? It’s whiplash-inducing."

People Magazine also denied Aikman's claim by reporting, "Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are not engaged , PEOPLE can confirm."

Those are now two of the most reliable celebrity gossip sites out there that have reported that there is no truth to the engagement rumors.

Aikman isn't likely to reveal his source, so at this point, it has become a he said, she said type of issue.
