ROCKTON — Haylie Alfaro led a balanced attack as the Hononegah volleyball team swept away NIC-10 adversary Rockford Auburn on Tuesday night.

The Indians dominated the Knights 25-12, 25-11 behind Alfaro’s five kills and five digs. Lili Fox and Alyssa Zowaski each added three kills while Jordan Dimke had two.

Katelyn Pigott paced Hononegah in aces (3) while Addison Erb led the way in blocks (3). Courtney McWilliams had 10 assists and Madeline Veitch contributed five.

The victory improves the Indians to 17-3 overall and keeps them undefeated in NIC-10 play at 13-0. It also extends their NIC-10 winning streak to 19 consecutive matches, a run that dates back to last season.

    • EDGERTON 3, BRODHEAD 1: Junior Brynn Riesterer had 13 kills but it wasn’t enough for the Cardinals to take down the Rock Valley Conference Rock-leading Crimson Tide on Tuesday.

Brohead (21-15, 5-3) won the opening set 25-20 but fell 18-25, 20-25 and 17-20 in the next three.

Alecia Dahl added nine kills and she paced the Cardinals’ 13-ace attack with five. Ava Risum and Karli Krumwiede each added three aces. Ava Risum had 23 digs while Dahl added 20 and Gretchen Kammerer led the way with 30 assists.

At 19-12 overall and 8-0 in conference play, Edgerton is primed to repeate as RVC Rock champions.

    • BOYS SOCCER: HONONEGAH 2, HARVARD 2: Ben Clements-Jewery and Caden Lucchesi each scored as the Indians settled for a draw in non-conference action Hornets (14-4-1) on Tuesday.

Hononegah (6-8-2) will next face NIC-10 foe Belvidere North at home on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

    • EVANSVILLE 3, BIG FOOT/WILLIAMS BAY 1: The Blue Devils scored twice in the second half to pull away from the Chiefs in Rock Valley Conference play on Tuesday.

Bryan Garcia scored off an assist from Mike Alfano for Big Foot/Williams Bay (4-5-5, 3-1-2) to make it tied 1-1 going into halftime.

But Xaiver Diebold scored twice and Christian Peleck had a goal and assist to help undefeated Evansville (12-0-2, 7-0-0) earn another win.

Ben Grant made seven saves for the Chiefs.
