One man is dead in an officer-involved shooting Wednesday night.

It happened around 8:45 p.m. in the area of Pennsylvania Avenue near Argyle Avenue and Pitcher St.

According to BPD, Baltimore police officers noticed a car traveling the wrong way on a one-way street.

The officers attempted to stop the vehicle. During the process, the driver of the car hit another car while pulling over. The officers were then able to get the driver out of the car to then sit on the curb.

While the police were questioning the man, he got up from the curb and ran off. The officers chased the man near Argyle, finding him hiding in a ditch.

Police Commissioner Richard Worley says the police asked the man several times to come out of the ditch and show his hands.

The officers noticed the man was armed; three or more officers shot the man, killing him.

More information will be provided as the story develops.
