The Kelly Clarkson effect strikes again –this time even winning over the song's original artist.
During Wednesday's episode of her award-winning talk show, the 42-year-old host rocked a skintight animal-print dress, gold jewelry and voluminous high-pony while belting a powerful cover of "Eras of Us" by the pop singer known as FLETCHER during " Kellyoke ."
The Kelly Clarkson Show 's official Instagram account later shared a snippet of the moment from the Oct. 9 episode, tagging the songwriter in the caption : "Stealin’ the air right from our lungs 🤩 @findingxfletcher ."
"KELLLYYYYYYYY," the artist–born Cari Elise Fletcher– emotionally exclaimed in the comments, later following up with, "you can own my discography." Finding the 30-year-old's statement amusing, Clarkson's team eventually replied with a laugh-crying emoji.
FLETCHER wasn't the only one praising the three-time Grammy winner for her version of the tune, as fans from all over the country expressed delight across several social media platforms.
"👏👏👏 like always Kelly can sing anything, make it her own and you end up loving it🙌 🙏," one gushed before a second Instagram user similarly applauded, "Kelly’s vocals!!!👏👏👏 she can own any song👏👏👏."
A different fan said she "ATE IT UP," while another begged her to "record & release" the cover.
"never knew how much i needed this in my life," someone else joked.
Even those watching the full performance on the NBC talk show's official YouTube channel were impressed, with one writing in part: "Kelly’s not only one of the best vocalists of all time, but also has an incredible taste."
"Omg this was so awesome! Love, love your voice," another YouTuber added. "You definitely need to duet with Fletcher."
"I was there in person! Was incredible!" a third declared. "Especially hearing the unbleeped version haha!"
