Former NBA star Victor Oladipo has started a new venture in his career as an analyst for ESPN, but rather than celebrating the new chapter, many fans are met with sadness at what could have been.

Oladipo started in his analyst role on Wednesday night during preseason action on ESPN, and he looked comfortable in his role. However, after seeing the promise that his NBA career brought, most notably with the Orlando Magic and Indiana Pacers, it was unfortunate to see it ended by injuries.

Oladipo missed 255 of 374 games since 2019 due to knee injuries, tearing his right quad multiple times and then suffering a torn patellar tendon in his left knee in 2023. Before injuries derailed his career, Oladipo was a two-time NBA All-Star, Third-Team All-NBA player, All-Defensive First-Team player, and the NBA's Most Improved player in 2018.

NBA fans were happy to see Oladipo on ESPN, but couldn't help but feel saddened about where his career ended up.

As a prolific basketball mind, there should be confidence that Oladipo can flourish as an analyst and have a long television career ahead of him breaking down the game and providing insight to fans who loved watching him play. However, there will always be a tinge of sadness that his career was marred by injuries, and we didn't get to see him reach his full potential.

Injuries have robbed a lot of good to what would have been great players careers due to injuries.. Plus we as fans that love to watch these athletes perform on the court, ice or grind iron needs to know that comes with the territory... Now NBA players gets hurt because of the ice that's under the wooden floor for hockey games you can not remove a whole sheet of ice then put down a wooden floor for NBA games I wish we could....
