When two people have gone through as much as former Golden State Warriors teammates Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, it’s easy to understand getting lost in the memories.

Curry and Thompson certainly have plenty of memories to reminisce about, both on and off the basketball court. More than anything, it's apparent that for Curry, Draymond Green, Steve Kerr and the rest of the Warriors, life without Thompson will be a drastic and strange change.

Just hearing how Curry looks back at memories of his time playing alongside Thompson makes it apparent how meaningful their bond is.

As ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk detailed, Curry even hilariously realized in the middle of a conversation about Thompson that he was talking about his former teammate "like he died."

"[Klay] would usually enter the practice facility coming off of his boat," Curry said. "With his Dockers on, whatever outfit he had on. He just had a presence about him, a lightness when he came in the room. And his one-liners were always great. ... [I'm] talking about him like he died, [which is] super weird.

Curry admitted that throughout their careers and even up until just before Thompson's departure, the duo never thought their time playing together would end.

"... Life throws a lot of curve balls in sports. You're used to seeing people change places and teams. [However] up until but a week before he decided to sign Dallas, we never really thought it was going to end."

Curry's realization that he was talking about Thompson as though he had lost a close friend made for a funny moment, but it also showed how unique their bond is.

After spending 13 years together and winning four titles with the Warriors, it's safe to say that not seeing the "Splash Brothers" share the floor will initially feel strange for all NBA fans.
