James Carville ‘Scared To Death’ About Election Day: Kamala Harris Needs To Get ‘Aggressive’

James Carville told MSNBC host Ali Melber that he was “scared to death” about impending presidential election day and called on Democrats to get “sharp” and “aggressive” in the final weeks of the campaign.

The Democratic strategist appeared on The Beat With Ali Melber on Wednesday night to discuss the last few weeks of the race but warned that he was feeling “very concerned” about the road ahead.

Asked about how he felt, Carville said: “The only thing I feel is the election is coming November 5th. I’m scared to death. And I’ll get a time to — ”

“You’re not in a reflective mood?” the host asked.

“Not in a particularly reflective mood right now. I’m very, very concerned,” the guest replied.

Melber pressed: “What does Harris need to do with the month left?”

Disputing that there was a month left in the race, Carville replied: “She doesn’t have a month left. We’ve got 26 days. Today is gone. You’re going to lose four to the hurricane. Just subtract that. We’re going to get blank — you’re not going to get much out for the next four days. And everything, kind of, shuts down the Saturday before the election, so you’re really probably under 20 days that you have to really get a message out.”

Continuing he rounded on what Democrats need to do to make a success of the home stretch: “They need to be sharp. They need to be aggressive. They need to stop answering questions and start asking questions. They’re doing all this and sitting down with 60 Minutes and sitting down with Colbert and sitting down — no matter what, if I come on your show, you will ask me the questions. If I have a press conference, I get to ask the questions.”

“You’d like to see her do more press conferences?” the host questioned.

Carville replied by calling on Vice President Kamala Harris to challenge the Trump campaign on it’s claims that former President Donald Trump “saved Obamacare.”

He continued: “But we’re just letting that go. And I think she and the whole campaign needs to be much more aggressive and much less passive than they are.”
