First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
Well, if you missed The Lamar Thomas Show last night, it’s not too late to tune in. Be sure to check that out.
It’s also ACC basketball media day, so stay tuned for what coach Jim Larranaga and players are talking about later today.
And don’t miss our big picture look at each player’s performance on offense this year with analysis using Pro Football Focus metrics. And we also continue our midseason grading the Canes series with an inside look at a tight ends position that has really staged a massive turnaround year-over-year.
In recruiting there’s our weekly tracking the commits feature with stats and highlights. And we have plenty of more updates including Miami 4-star WR commit Joshua Moore going inside his decision to flip from Florida as well as a scout’s take on his addition. There’s a coach update on Moore as well as we talk with West Broward High School head football coach Brian McCartney. He’s seen Moore blossom into one of the most sought-after prospects in the country.
Another update: Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna four-star Miami cornerback commit Chris Ewald Jr.’s stats through the first half of the season may look modest, but they don’t tell the full story of the On300 player’s production so far in his senior season. We have his coach’s take.
Plus Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin top-100 safety and Miami commit Hylton “Drake” Stubbs has played like a consensus four-star player and one of the country’s top safeties through the first half of the season. His coach weighs in on what the future Cane is showing.
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.
Me I would love to see them use Lofton more as a TE/FB to help out more with blocking for the running game. Having a FB might just be the thing we need to really out open the running game and besides isn’t that what the bye is all about, coming up with new stuff that the other team hasn’t seen us do before. Also having Lofton lining in the slot and running the ball will really give the defense something to think about and this will free up the middle of the field for our TE’s and X. Not only that we can add some eye candy of our own like what Cali did to get our players open. I would love to see them use our speed guys more with like Chris Johnson and Joseph like how SMU, VT and Cali uses their speed guys. I hate envying the other teams use of their players when I know we have the same or greater players at our disposal. Please lets open up the play book and pretty please have Ward go to his check down more instead of always looking for the big play. He would have less INT’s and keep the chains moving to eat up more clock. What are some other thing you want to see accomplish in the bye week other than just improving the defense and the slow pace offense?
