Man in eye of Hurricane Milton saw 'giant blue explosions' and has worrying fear

A man trapped in the heart of Hurricane Milton reported seeing "giant blue explosions" following the first night of the terrifying storm.

Florida inhabitants were advised to leave their homes and seek safer locations days before the colossal storm struck, but some chose to remain indoors at their residences. Those who stayed have turned to TikTok and other social media platforms to document the damage and their ongoing survival amid Hurricane Milton.

One man, Stephan, believed he saw explosions. But he had more worrying problems to think about.

In a video shared online, his building is beginning to flood. It appears inevitable that the street will flood as the nearby canal continues to bear the brunt of the crashing waves.

His TikTok video, titled "What I've seen already Hurricane Milton", chronicled the terrifying moments and near misses he has encountered so far.

With no end to the storm in sight, Stephan stated: "I'm not even halfway through this". He continued: "My garage is flooded. The streets are flooded. Who knew when generators flooded they made giant blue explosions. This whole canal going through downtown Tampa is going to flood and hit these streets. I've seen umbrellas and s*** flying around. I've got to stay up until 4am to make sure I don't die."

Stephan, caught in the terrifying grip of Hurricane Milton, still had power and reported that the streets outside his home were not flooded. The public is anxiously following his updates, with some fearing for his survival.

Comments on his page show deep concern: "Literally refreshing the page to make sure you're still alive, bless." Another person expressed a sense of duty, saying, "Now it feels like my responsibility to keep checking on a random guy I met on TikTok every 30 minutes to make sure he's still safe."

Stephan has been offering glimpses of his situation, including attempts to check the conditions outside, prompting advice from followers. One said: "Hey friend if you leave your apartment again put something to hold the door open. Stairwells lock in emergencies."

Reassurances also poured in, with a responder writing: "You've got people from every state watching at minimum to make sure you stay safe."

In a recent post, Stephan shared his belief that he "survived Hurricane Milton" and described the hurricane's impact as "worse than I expected".
