Bucks County sports: From major milestones to momentous wins, these athletes stood out

1 days agoThe regular season is wrapping up, but these student-athletes are just getting started. Whether they're looking to secure top seeding in the playoffs, or finish their season on a positive note, last week's top performances were top-notch.
From overtime wins to lockdown defense, check out the top performances in soccer, field hockey, volleyball and golf.

Top Performances in Girls Volleyball:
Sophia Lodise, Conwell-Egan
The sophomore dished out 42 assists, along with six aces, six kills and five digs, in a 3-1 win against St. Hubert.
Alia Schmidt, Conwell-Egan
Schmidt tallied 15 kills, nine digs and one block in a win against Villa Joseph Marie. Against Bonner-Prendergast, she delivered eight kills, six aces and five digs in the sweep, and contributed nine digs, six kills and one ace in a 3-1 win over St. Hubert’s.
Elisa Kremser, CB West
The senior handed out 18 assists, which included the 900th of her career, along with 16 digs and six blocks, in a 3-2 win over Faith Christian. Against Souderton, Kremser tallied 25 assists, 10 digs, seven kills and three blocks in a 3-1 win.
Caitlin Kuntz, Pennridge
She led the Rams with 13 kills in a 3-1 win over North Penn that clinched a share of the SOL Continental title.
Ellie White, Quakertown
She posted 11 kills, four blocks and three aces to help the Panthers edge CB South 3-2.
Top Performances in Golf:
Alli Engart, Souderton
The senior claimed second place in the Suburban One League girls golf tournament, shooting a round of 73 at Five Ponds Golf Club. Engart advanced to the District One golf tournament on Oct. 14-15.
Other qualifiers for the district tournament were Council Rock North’s Naaz Mehta and Mariana Walker , CB South’s Sophia Branca , North Penn’s Gigi Gratz , and Christina St . Pierre of Pennsbury.
Top Performances in Girls Soccer:
Regan Kelso, Archbishop Wood
She scored two goals against St. Hubert, and the win clinched the top seed in Catholic League playoffs for the Vikings.
Paige Eckert, Archbishop Wood
She came through the game-winning goal in the final minutes of regulation, giving the Vikings a 1-0 win over Conwell-Egan. In her next game, Eckert scored twice in a win against St. Hubert.
Kathryn O’Kane, CR South
She scored late in the second half to tie the game and force overtime against perennial playoff power Parkland. The game ended in a 2-2 tie.
Addison Holmes, Villa Joseph Marie
With time winding down in a scoreless game, Holmes scored the winning goal to give the Jems a thrilling 1-0 victory over AACA rival Gwynedd Mercy.
Adrianna Posten, Bensalem
She scored the lone goal to give the Owls a 1-0 win against defending state champion Dock Mennonite.
Carmen DeCaro, Bensalem
The Owls’ goalie recorded a shutout against Dock Mennonite to secure a 1-0 win. It was just the second loss of the season for Dock.
Audrey Rogan, CR North
The junior has been on an offensive tear for the Indians, who have won their last four games. Against Lower Moreland, she scored twice in the first half, and she had a goal and assist in a 2-0 win over Villa Joseph Marie. She had two goals in a 3-0 win against Wissahickon, and one against Harry S. Truman.
Keiley Hawk, Upper Moreland
Hawk scored twice to lead the Golden Bears to a 3-0 win against Calvary Christian.
Kylie Wiest, Archbishop Wood
Wiest scored twice and assisted on another goal to help the Vikings edge William Tennent 4-3.
Lily Harvey, Hatboro-Horsham
She scored both of the Hatters’ goals in the second half to secure a 2-0 win against Springfield.
Madison Taylor, Quakertown
The senior, who normally shines on defense, powered the Panthers’ offense with two goals and one assist in a 4-0 win against Wissahickon.
Top Performances in Field Hockey:
Kendall DeLuca, Gwynedd Mercy
The sophomore had a big week for the Monarchs, scoring four goals and dishing out five assists in wins against Merion Mercy and Villa Joseph Marie.
Alisha Knight, Harry S. Truman
It doesn’t get more dramatic than this. Against Bristol, Knight scored the game-winning goal in overtime that not only gave the Tigers their first win of the year, but their first win since the 2019-20 season. She scored again in the Tigers next game, which was a 9-0 victory against Academy Park.
Hannah Gibson, Palisades
The junior scored two goals to power the Pirates to a 3-1 win over Northern Lehigh.
Ava Leonetti, CR South
She scored the lone goal in a tough defensive battle, giving the Golden Hawks a 1-0 win over Pennridge. It was a different story in her next game, when Leonetti scored three straight goals in the first quarter of a 9-0 win against Harry S. Truman.
Kasey Rieger, Neshaminy
The senior excelled on Neshaminy’s Senior Night, scoring three of the team’s four goals in a 4-0 win against CR North.
Olivia Conte, New Hope-Solebury
She scored two goals in the first quarter to spur the Lions to a 3-0 win over Upper Moreland.
Danielle Wilson, New Hope-Solebury
She assisted on all three of the Lions’ goals in a 3-0 win against Upper Moreland.
Ella Gould, Upper Moreland
The junior scored the game-winner one minute after the start of overtime, giving the Golden Bears a 2-1 win over Hatboro-Horsham.
Sophia Riehle, Upper Moreland
The sophomore’s contributions on offense and defense helped the Golden Bears secure a 2-1 win over Hatboro-Horsham in overtime. On offense, Riehle maintained possession of the ball and created scoring opportunities for her teammates, and she intercepted numerous pass attempts on defense.
Tatum Andrews, Souderton
She scored two goals in Souderton’s 4-1 win over Pennridge. The win was the 100th for head coach Sue Casciato.
Madeline Kennedy, Lansdale Catholic
The senior netted two goals and one assist to lead the Crusaders to a 5-1 win over St. Hubert on Senior Night.
Top Performances in Boys Soccer:
Rezi Tebidize, Neshaminy
For the second time in a week, Tebidze scored the game-winning goal in a scoreless game — this time against top Catholic League team Archbishop Wood — giving Neshaminy the 1-0 victory late in the second half. Last week, he had the lone goal in a 1-0 win against Cheltenham.
Reid Van Demark, CR South
He scored two straight goals in the second half of the Golden Hawks’ 3-0 win against Hatboro-Horsham.
Cole Barrett, CB West
Down 1-0 in the first half, Barrett scored the game-tying goal, and then the winning goal in the second half to give the Bucks a 2-1 victory over Wissahickon.
Dylan Kopenits, Conwell-Egan
In a battle among teams at the top of the PCL standings, Kopenits scored a goal and had an assist to lead the Eagles to a huge 2-0 win over Archbishop Ryan.
Matt Cancelliere, Holy Ghost
The midfielder scored in double overtime to give the Firebirds a 3-2 win over Pennsbury.
Milan Jagielnicki, Lansdale Catholic
The sophomore led the way for the Crusaders against Archbishop Wood, scoring an early goal and creating opportunities for the offense, leading to a crucial 4-0 PCL victory that halted a three-game winless streak.
Sam Zieger, La Salle
He scored the lone goal of the game to give the Explorers a 1-0 win over Lansdale Catholic.
Ricky Rementer, Lansdale Catholic
The Crusaders’ goalie held PCL leader La Salle, a team averaging five goals a game, to a single goal in an impressive outing. La Salle, undefeated on the season, won 1-0.
Jace Soto, Pennridge
He scored two of the Rams’ goals in a 3-1 win against CR South.
Gabe Hendrickson, Upper Moreland
After a scoreless regulation, Hendrickson scored the game-winner on a penalty kick in OT for a 1-0 victory over Dock Mennonite.
Dan Frye, CB East
Frye scored three goals to lead the Patriots to a 4-2 win in New Jersey against Notre Dame.
