The township will be holding a ribbon cutting ceremony for its new pedestrian pathway on Skillman Road on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

The half-mile pedestrian pathway connects Otto Kaufman Community Center, Montgomery High School and other neighboring areas.

The project received support from the New Jersey Development of Community Affairs and the remaining cost was paid from the township's Open Space Trust Fund.

“We’ve heard residents’ feedback and are making improvements to pedestrian and bicycle accessibility a priority in Montgomery,” said Mayor Neena Singh. “These enhancements are incremental, but with each one we are making our community safer and easier to walk around.”

As part of the $277,000 project, broken and lifted sidewalk sections outside Otto Kaufman Community Center were repaired, and a crosswalk to Montgomery High School was added.
