I don't think that government employees pay Social Security tax, (I could be wrong). I know that in the State of Ohio government employees enroll in PERS, (Public Employees Retirement Savings, (this could also be incorrect for what PERS stands for). So, if replenishing SSA using taxes incurred by workers, how exactly does that happen if major companies are laying off workers in droves???
