Tottenham signing Wilson Odobert delivers new injury update as he works hard on return

Tottenham winger Wilson Odobert is working hard to get back to full fitness after seeing his early Spurs career disrupted by injury.

The 19-year-old winger hurt his hamstring during the early stages of last month’s dramatic late 2-1 win over Championship side Coventry in the Carabao Cup third round.

Odobert, who moved to Tottenham in the summer from relegated Burnley in a somewhat surprise deal worth £25million, has not played since and is expected to be out for a number of weeks yet.

France Under-21 international Odobert is currently undergoing his rehabilitation at Spurs’ training ground and is pushing to get back as quickly as possible.

“I’m disappointed about this injury but I’m working hard now to come back and play again,” he told Tottenham’s official website. “I just need to keep pushing and keep working.”

Odobert looked lively in his first few appearances for Tottenham and they will be eager to get him back available quickly. Spurs are next in action after the international break a week on Saturday, when they host London rivals West Ham, with manager Ange Postecoglou no doubt demanding a reaction to last week’s horror second-half capitulation at Brighton that ended a run of five successive wins across all competitions.
