    I Got Shot in a Place That Loves Guns, and I Still Can’t Bring Myself to Hate Guns

    In my opinion, recent events have disproven the author's grandfather's theory that an age restriction would change gun violence. In Georgia, an irresponsible father bought a firearm for a troubled teen and said reen used said firearm to shoot up a school because he was bullied. Here in San Antonio, a 14 year old shot and killed a 16 year old because one made crude remarks about the other's dead mother. Age restrictions obviously did nothing to stop these young people from having weapons they should not have had.If age restrictions won't 'fix the problem' then what will?? How about education?? Instead of hiding firearms away and making the invisible/untouchable, how about teaching young kids the proper respect and handling of firearms? Maybe taking away the mystery will reduce the number of accidental shootings of curious children??
