Teen Mom’s Ryan Edwards and GF Amanda Reveal How Maci Bookout Reacted to Their Pregnancy

Teen Mom star Ryan Edwards and girlfriend Amanda Conner revealed how his ex Maci Bookout reacted to their pregnancy.

“She’s been very supportive and she was excited,” Ryan, 36, told Us Weekly on Wednesday, October 9, about sharing the news with Maci, 33.

Ryan and Maci dated from 2007 until 2009, and they’ve remained in each other’s lives as they coparent their son, Bentley, 15. He is also the parent to son Jagger, 5, and daughter Stella, 4, with his estranged wife, Mackenzie Edwards.

Meanwhile, Amanda, 33, reflected on building a friendship with Maci before she became pregnant.

“It comes down to coparenting and being there for Bentley and being there for the kids,” she told the outlet. “I just feel like she really respects that. I don’t give her a hard time. I want to see Ryan be a dad, and I want to see him coparent with Maci.”

Amanda – who has one child from a previous relationship – added that it’s important to prioritize the happiness of their blended family. “It makes everything easier,” she explained. “We get along. We hang out. We are actually doing family things that families are supposed to be doing. It just makes it a lot easier, and I feel like she appreciates that.”

Ryan also revealed how his parents, Jen Edwards and Larry Edwards, reacted to the pregnancy. “[Jen and Larry] were a little shocked at first, but they’re very excited,” the MTV personality told the outlet.

Amanda seemingly confirmed pregnancy rumors in September when fans spotted a sonogram hung up on the fridge in her home in the background of a social media post. One fan commented that she was a “creeper” and could “see what’s on your refrigerator,” according to screenshots obtained by fan account Teen Mom Chatter.

She then fueled the speculation by responding, “…Oh f–k.”

Amanda officially confirmed her pregnancy in a TikTok posted on October 6. “Have you had any ‘morning’ sickness during your pregnancy? Omg girl, I was so sick I thought I was gonna [skull emoji} … don’t know how I lived through both!!” one person wrote in the comments section.

“Same !! This has been a rough pregnancy,” Amanda responded.

Not only did Ryan reveal how Maci reacted to the news, but the mother of three previously spoke about Ryan and Amanda’s relationship during an exclusive interview with In Touch.

“They have a really solid friendship and just a genuine care for one another,” Maci told In Touch about the couple in May. “She is fantastic. She’s just really supportive of Ryan and his relationship with [our son] Bentley and his coparenting relationship with me.”

Maci then shared that things are “really easy and natural” between herself and the couple. “We click and just really get along,” the TV personality said. “The most important thing is she’s just really supportive of all the relationships and things that go on with Ryan. It definitely helps for him to be in a relationship where that is happening.”

One ex that Ryan is not on good terms with is Mackenzie, 27, who filed for divorce in February 2023. The case was dismissed one year later due to inactivity, though Ryan filed his own divorce paperwork in February. Meanwhile, both Ryan and Mackenzie were granted mutual restraining orders in April.
