The incident occurred in Rockland County around 2:20 a.m., Monday, Oct. 7, in Stony Point.

According to Lt. Daniel Schoales of the Stony Point Police, officers responded to Nyack Hospital to investigate a domestic incident.

The investigation revealed that two juveniles revealed that their mother, Kimberly Rivas, age 33, of Stony, had used a foam baseball bat to strike both juveniles several times, causing injuries, Schoales said.

Rivas was arrested and charged with:

    • Assault - 2 counts
    • Endangering the welfare of a child - 2 counts
    • Possession of a weapon - 2 counts
    • Harassment - 2 counts

She was released on her own recognizance with a return date of Thursday, Oct. 17.

Rivas was also issued a stay-away order, and state Child Protective Service was notified.

and there's nothing that could be done to the person making vindictive phone calls and using CPS as a weapon just to make somebody's life uncomfortable. not to mention the questions the poor child has to go through every single time these people show up at the door every couple months. questions are disgusting child still has to be subject to this. this hurts the child more than anything I believe and it's disgusting. people like this should be locked up and CPS needs to step back and leave innocent people alone and go help the people that need them the children that need them. sorry just a little venting from somebody who is fed up and needs a good civil rights attorney.

this states especially this county's CPS is a joke... corrupt... legislation should also revisit some of the ridiculous rules in place especially the ones where an individual can make 15 to 30 phone calls on one person in one month and over a year's time back to back being unfounded, non-indicated cases each and every time but still CPS has to harass innocent people.. and there's nothing that could be done to the person making vindictive phone calls and using CPS as a weapon just to make somebody's life uncomfortable.
