Maltipoo’s Epic Counter-Surfing Stunt Caught on Camera & It's Canine Parkour at Its Finest

The intelligence our dogs possess can sometimes be frightening. Some become skilled at opening cabinets and doors, and others become language experts. While their high IQs are impressive, they can also make it harder to keep them safe.

A prime example would be this petite Maltipoo who found a way to counter-surf. Although it’s not something you commonly see with a dog this small, this girl devised a plan only a genius could envision.

This resourceful Maltipoo (@ lilithanbear ) won’t let anything hold her back! Her mom explained that she always wanted to know what her dog was up to when she wasn’t home, so she installed a camera. To her surprise, she captured her clever pup using a series of chairs to help her reach her destination. This little rascal first climbed onto the recliner and then jumped up on a barstool and onto another, giving her enough height to hop onto the breakfast bar and then down onto the counter. Oh my! Now, Mom won’t be able to leave anything on the counter that this troublemaker could get into. This is one of those times when I wish dogs could talk so she could tell us how long it took her to figure this out. But then again, she may not reveal her secrets. Thankfully, in the comments section, her mom shared she got down the same way she went up and didn’t get into trouble while there. Phew!

Are All Maltipoos This Clever?

Yes, they are known for being exceptionally clever! As a cross between a Maltese and a Poodle, they inherit their intelligence from both sides. Research scientist Stanley Coren ranked Poodles among the top five most intelligent breeds , and the Maltese are known for being bright, alert, and adaptable. According to Dogster, this genetic makeup makes Maltipoos smarter than the average dog . This adorable breed enjoys activities that challenge them, which is evident here. Whether it’s puzzle games, obedience, training, scent training, or agility, they are often eager to participate. The more tired they are, the less likely they are to get bored and be mischievous.

People were impressed with this pup’s ingenuity. One responded, “Definitely impressed…imagine the cognitive thinking it took.” It’s incredible.
