CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Relatives of a boy who was shot earlier this week in West Pullman, on the Far South Side, are pleading for the people responsible to come forward.

Zayden Garrett has already been operated on twice, once to remove part of his lung and another Wednesday  to extract a bullet.

His grandmother, Rosie Liggins, told CBS News Chicago she and the rest of his family have been outside the hospital praying since he was shot inside her home near 116th and Yale on Monday night.

“Seven-years-old, he’s supposed to be in school, coming home, getting on our nerves, but, instead, he’s up here, and we’re down here, Liggins said.

Chicago Police say two people in a white Audi shot at the home, hitting Zayden in the back and grazing his head as well his 27-year-old uncle in the chest and arm.

The family is asking for the shooter and anyone with information to come forward.
