ESPN college football analyst Greg McElroy recently posted his "Always College Football" podcast, revealing his picks for the Week 7 slate.

During McElroy's preview of matchups like No. 2 Ohio State versus No. 3 Oregon, No. 4 Penn State versus USC, and No. 1 Texas versus No. 18 Oklahoma, he dropped one upset prediction.

McElroy believes the California Golden Bears will be playing with a chip on their shoulder in Week 7, following a narrow loss to Top 10 Miami in Week 6.

The ESPN analyst is taking the Golden Bears (3-2) over the No. 22 Pittsburgh Panthers (5-0), given their defensive prowess.

"Part of me wants to take Cal in this game, so I will," McElroy said . "I think Cal bounces back, forces a couple of interceptions and as a result, pulls off a bit of a stunner against the Pitt Panthers and disrupting their undefeated season."

The No. 22 Panthers are listed as 3.5-point favorites over unranked California, according to ESPN BET. The money line favoring Pitt is set at -165 heading into Week 7.

Despite ESPN's computer-generated matchup predictor giving Pitt a 68.6% chance to defeat the Golden Bears and advance to 6-0 for the first time since 1982, McElroy thinks a feisty Cal defense will overpower Pitt and take home the victory.

Golden Bears safety Nohl Williams leads the team with five interceptions on the season, along with three pass deflections and 11 solo tackles.

While those are incredible numbers through the first few weeks of the season, he's not the only defensive star at Cal. Linebacker Xavier Carlton leads the team with 4.5 sacks on the year and linebacker Teddye Buchanan leads Cal with 48 total tackles.

McElroy explained that Pitt quarterback Eli Holstein has been throwing into traffic this season, and while he's only recorded three interceptions, he predicts the young quarterback will make some mistakes in Week 7, giving Cal the edge.
