The Tennessee Volunteers are looking to get back on track on Saturday night against the Florida Gators, and they'll be doing it in a no-frills manner - at least with regards to what they're wearing.

Tennessee announced on Thursday that the Vols will be going with their traditional orange jersey, white pants, white helmet look against the Gators. Or, "the Classic", as they appropriately put it.

Hard to argue with the choice. Look good, feel good. Feel good, play good. After all, it worked pretty well the last time the teams met in Knoxville in 2022.  Tennessee, in the same look, defeated the Florida Gators 38-33.

The Vols trailed 14-10 late in the second quarter, but a highlight reel Ramel Keyton diving catch set up a touchdown to take the lead into halftime, and the Vols would pull away in the second half.  That is, until a late near meltdown gave Florida QB Anthony Richardson one last shot at the end zone, which fell short.

Now, UT will be looking to beat the Gators for the second straight time at home for the first time since the 1990 and 1992 seasons, when Tennessee won 45-3 and 31-14, respectively.  And they'll be doing it in front of a "Checker Neyland" Tennessee crowd .  This month marks the ten-year anniversary since the Vols checkered Neyland Stadium orange and white for the first time - a deflating 10-9 come-from-ahead loss to the Gators back on October 2, 2014.

The stage will be set on Saturday evening inside a raucous Neyland Stadium.  And the scene will undeniably be colored orange and white.
