Open Streets ICT returns to Wichita for the seventh year. The free, community-building annual event will be held from noon – 5 p.m. this Sunday, October 13. Attendees will enjoy a day of biking, physical activities, music, dancing and much more.

Traffic will be closed off beginning at 10 a.m. for more than four miles on Douglas Ave. from College Hill at Bluff St. to Glenn St. in the historic Delano District. Streets will reopen by 6 p.m. that evening.

Visitors will be able to cruise along Douglas Avenue on bikes, skateboards or walk and stop at activity hubs, shop businesses on the route, and visit food and street vendors while listening to music.

Pets are asked to be kept on a leash at the event, and water stations for dogs will be available along the route. Wichita Transit is offering free rides on the Q-Line trolley during Open Streets ICT on First and Second Streets from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. The shuttle will run from 2nd & Oliver to 2nd & Waco, then circle back up 1st Street to Oliver.

Open Streets ICT is sponsored by KAKE News, Wichita Park & Recreation, the Wichita Parks Foundation, Audacy Radio, Meritrust Credit Union, Fidelity Bank, Koch Industries, Wichita Transit, Groundworks and Quantum Credit Union.
