Earlier this week, Sturgill Simpson announced that he would play a benefit show to raise money for hurricane victims at the Koka Booth Amphitheater in Cary, North Carolina. The concert was set to take place on October 21. Yesterday (October 9), he announced a second night in Cary due to popular demand.

Originally, Simpson was set to perform at the ExploreAsheville.com Arena on October 21. However, the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene in Asheville, North Carolina, and the surrounding areas forced him to cancel the stop on his Why Not? Tour. That didn’t stop him from booking a show in the Tar Heel State, though. So, he scheduled “An Evening with Sturgill Simpson” at the Koka Booth Amphitheater in Cary.

After high demand for the first night, Simpson added a second. He’ll now perform in Cary, North Carolina on October 21 and 22. All proceeds from the shows will go to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund. Special venue presale tickets are on sale now. They will be available to the public starting tomorrow (October 11).

Those who had tickets to the original Asheville show will get refunds. Fans who purchased through Ticketmaster will have refunds processed automatically. Those who purchased through other retailers are urged to contact their point of purchase. Simpson plans to reschedule the Asheville show at a later date. When he does, those who had tickets for the original date will have priority access to tickets for the rescheduled date.

With Sturgill Simpson’s return to the music world, nearly all his fans want tickets to the Why Not? Tour. Unfortunately, though, tickets are limited. Fortunately, Simpson has partnered with Nugs.Net, a giant in live music streaming to release official recordings from his tour stops.

Those with Nugs subscriptions can stream all of the tracks on the company’s app or their browser. Additionally, fans can download the songs to play offline. Additionally, those who don’t want to pay for another subscription service are in luck. They can purchase digital downloads of the shows in a variety of formats including MP3, FLAC, and ALAC.
