“The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family,” she said, referencing her and William’s three children — Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
“Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown,” Middleton continued, calling her cancer journey “complex, scary and unpredictable.”
After clarifying that her “path to healing and full recovery [would be] long,” the royal teased “a few more public engagements in the coming months.”
The princess addressed her silence by saying, “It has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them and to reassure them that I am going to be OK.”
In September, Middleton reportedly hosted a meeting to discuss her Early Years campaign with members from the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.
She has yet to divulge the type of cancer she suffered from.
