The New York Giants are riding high after their 29-20 victory over the Seattle Seahawks and are now gearing up for a crucial Week 6 matchup against the struggling Cincinnati Bengals.

Sitting at 2-3 on the season, the Giants are seeking to build momentum and continue their upward trajectory.

While the Giants defense put out a positive performance last week, they now face a much tougher test with Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and his talented receiving duo, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, waiting on the other side. A win against Cincinnati could keep the Giants in the NFC East conversation as they look to climb out of the basement of the division.

Meanwhile, the New York Jets are facing turmoil after their 23-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5. In the aftermath of the defeat, the Jets made the shocking decision to fire head coach Robert Saleh, who had a 20-36 record since taking over in 2021.

Interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich immediately made a bold move by relieving Nathaniel Hackett of his offensive play-calling duties and handing the reins to Todd Downing, the team's passing game coordinator. This change is part of Ulbrich’s attempt to bring a "fresh approach" to the Jets' offense, as they look to bounce back under new leadership.

Hackett, a close confidant of quarterback Aaron Rodgers, will remain on staff in an unspecified role. Ulbrich confirmed that Rodgers was consulted on the decision and supported the move, but the pressure is on Downing to produce immediate results.

As the Giants prepare for their battle against the Bengals, they’ll be hoping to capitalize on the positive momentum from their win against Seattle, while the Jets continue to retool their coaching staff amid a difficult start to their season.
