Alex Morgan’s Outfit Turned Heads At Her Event On Wednesday

The shock of Alex Morgan's retirement is still reverberating across the soccer world. On Sep. 5, she announced in a surprise video on social media that she was hanging up her boots after one of the finest careers in U.S. soccer history, which included a gold medal at the 2012 Olympics and winning back-to-back World Cups in 2015 and 2019.

The 35-year-old is already making the most of her newfound freedom, continuing her impact off the field through the Alex Morgan Foundation . On Wednesday, the organization hosted the second annual Celebration of Confidence event. The spotlight shined on Morgan, who embodied the theme of the event with the bold outfit she confidently displayed at the gala in San Diego.

"Thank you to all of our incredible sponsors and supporters who made tonight possible," Morgan wrote in a post to her 10 million Instagram followers. "Together, we’re helping girls and women find confident paths forward."

The former San Diego Wave and USWNT forward stood in a power stance in a photo she posted on Instagram, showing off her flowing orange dress. She completed the look with gold jewelry and high heels. The final touch to put it over the top was pink toenail polish to match the "pink carpet" at the event.

The high-profile event was emceed by ESPN reporter Katia Castorena and featured music from award-winning pianist Summer Swee-Singh. Morgan was joined at the event by her husband, Servando Carrasco, as well as former San Diego and Team USA teammates Jaedyn Shaw and Naomi Girma.
