The Golden State Warriors ran the Sacramento Kings out of the Golden 1 Center on Wednesday night, beating them 122-112. The Warriors shot 52 three-pointers and made a franchise-record 28 of them.

The all-time record for most threes made in a game is held by the Milwaukee Bucks, who made 29 in 2020 against the Miami Heat

After losing Klay Thompson to the Dallas Mavericks in free agency, there were legitimate concerns about how the Warriors would replace him, and if that was even possible. The Warriors have decided to create an offensive by committee, bringing in De'Anthony Melton, Kyle Anderson, and Buddy Hield, and are banking on internal developments from Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski.

Given that the newcomers shot a combined 11-for-17 from distance in the win over the Kings, it would appear that their strategy for replacing Thomspon's effectiveness is paying off.

Given that Kuminga is a career 34.1 percent shooter from deep in his career, debates swirled regarding his ability to increase his efficiency in an increased role. On Wednesday, he shot a solid four-for-seven from deep and finished with 16 points.

In the record-setting game, Stephen Curry only played 16 minutes. As with any Curry-led team, the Warriors play a fast-paced, shooting-heavy offensive game, and the rest of his supporting cast seems to have fit in seamlessly. Hield has long been compared to Curry, as he is also an elite marksman, and with Podziemski racking up eight assists, it's safe to say that defenses will have to keep their heads on a swivel as both Curry and Hield get open.

Preseason is ripe for overreaction, but if the Warriors can replicate any of their success in the regular season, it's safe to say that they are a legitimate playoff team.
