<body><div>EL CENTRO — A gunshot victim was flown to a Palm Springs hospital and the alleged shooter was arrested within the same 24-hour period on Wednesday, Oct. 9, according to El Centro police.The shooting was first reported around 3 a.m. Wednesday when officers were dispatched to El Centro Regional Medical Center, where a 32-year-old Hispanic male was being treated for a gunshot wound to his left tricep, El Centro police Sgt. Steven Fisher said. “The bullet penetrated through his arm and into his upper torso. The victim was flown to Desert Regional Medical Center, Palm Springs, to receive life threatening care for his gunshot wound,” Fisher said. The victim’s condition was not immediately available.During the course of the investigation, 52-year-old El Centro resident Michael B. Felix was identified as the alleged shooter and was taken into custody around 8:20 a.m. and booked on one count of attempted murder, one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and for being a person prohibited from possessing a firearm.
