Jake Paul Shockingly Details Plan To Commit Suicide Before Pivot To Boxing Saved His Life

In a revealing new interview, Jake Paul revealed that he seriously considered suicide, and even plotted out how he would end his life before making the transition to boxing.
Love him or hate him, Jake Paul has shockingly become one of the biggest names in boxing. He doesn’t compete in bouts that have any divisional relevancy. And detractors knock him over the age of many of his foes. However, the interest he draws can’t be denied.
In November, the actor and YouTuber turned pugilist will hit a new peak in his fight career when he headlines a card on Netflix, and inside AT&T Stadium, against heavyweight icon Mike Tyson. The bout is sure to bring a huge amount of attention and take his fame to even higher levels.
However, his unique journey in fight sports almost didn’t happen. In a new interview with the Hollywood Reporter Paul admitted that in the years leading up to his transition to becoming a boxer, suicide was something he seriously considered.
The 27-year-old has been famous since childhood. But his life became chaotic by 2017. He had a falling out with his parents in the years following their divorce and a feud developed with his brother Logan. He was already living a wild and unhealthy life at the time, but then he hit a low point when he also received serious blowback from the infamous “suicide forest” video his brother released on his popular YouTube channel.
Paul claims the ramifications from that cost him tens of millions and his finances were soon in shambles. Sponsors were no longer interested in working with either Paul brother.

“And so there I am, no money, kind of hating myself, the whole world hates me. I’m drinking. I’m depressed and not having a good relationship with either of my parents or Logan,” Paul recalled. “…I just felt wrong in life and by all the cards I had been dealt. It was f***ed up. I just tried to do good my whole life and here I am with what felt like nothing”
Things got so dire that Jake Paul actually plotted out how he would end it all.
“I had a plan. It’s f***ing crazy. I was going to put a bunch of gas cans in my Lamborghini, get really drunk, and drive off the top of this cliff in Calabasas. It’s called Stunt Road,” he said.
Fortunately, he rethought his plans because he felt committing suicide would just be giving in to his “haters.” Eventually, he decided to rebuild his brand on YouTube, made the jump to boxing, and the rest is lucrative history.
