PITTSBURG, Kan. — Pittsburg police arrest a woman, saying she attacked another woman with a hatchet.

Ashley Wilson, 32, of Pittsburg, is being held in the Crawford County Jail on no bond on aggravated battery charges. She made her first court appearance Thursday afternoon.

Emergency personnel responded to the 23rd Street Bike Park just after four Wednesday afternoon for a report of a woman who had been struck in the neck with a hatchet. Authorities found the woman deep in a wooded area and transported her to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers say the incident started as an argument between the two women and escalated.
