Rob Gronkowski's Prediction for Bills-Jets Monday Night Game Turns Heads

The Buffalo Bills are set to take on the New York Jets on "Monday Night Football" in Week 6. It should be a fun contest, considering it's an AFC East clash between bitter rivals.

Buffalo has had a rocky two weeks after suffering back-to-back losses to the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans. Meanwhile, New York starts fresh after firing Robert Saleh as head coach.

With both organizations needing a win, former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski discussed the outlook for the Bills-Jets game on "Up & Adams" with Kay Adams. The 35-year-old former NFL star turned sports analyst also shared his prediction for the Week 6 matchup.

Despite the Bills being a -2.5 favorite to beat the Jets on "Monday Night Football," according to FanDuel, Gronkowski believes New York will steal the win away from Buffalo. Due to the injuries the Buffalo is suffering from and the spark a head coach firing can create for a team, he sees the Jets taking home the win.

Gronkowski mentions how the Bills may be without running back James Cook and wide receiver Khalil Shakir. The two Bills stars are currently questionable heading into Week 6. Cook has been limited in practice while Shakir hasn't participated at all.

More injury updates on both Cook and Shakir will come to light before the Monday night game kicks off. However, if they are a no-go, then the Bills will be at a considerable disadvantage against the Jets. That's especially true considering New York has one of the best defenses in the league.

Outside from that, Gronkowski makes a great point about the Jets having "the spark plugs." NFL teams tend to play with more tenacity after a head coach gets fired. Especially in the following week of the firing.

Just look at the Las Vegas Raiders in the 2023 season. After letting Josh McDaniel go as head coach and replacing him with Antonio Pierce, the Raiders went ended up winning more games than not.

Before the firing, Las Vegas held a 3-5 record in 2023 and went 5-4 in the back half of the season with Pierce leading the way. That's something that could certainly happen for the Jets after letting go of Saleh.
