The Minnesota Vikings will play the Detroit Lions, not this weekend, but next Sunday, October 20 , after their bye week. It’s the final game of a brutal six-game stretch to start the season, a gauntlet that included the San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans, Green Bay Packers (away) and Aaron Rodgers’ New York Jets, in London.

Yet, they’re currently 5-0 and sitting atop the NFC. But the Lions are right behind them, at 3-1, after completing their bye, last week. Detroit plays this weekend vs the (3-2) Dallas Cowboys. But that doesn’t mean sportsbooks won’t let you bet on next week’s Vikings vs Lions game early.

Minnesota Vikings early favorites vs Detroit Lions

Now, this line will likely change, especially after the Lions play the Cowboys on Sunday afternoon. Bookmark this article, because we will update it with news and analysis, over the next 1.5 weeks. But if you feel so obliged, you can bet on week 7’s matchup between Minnesota and Detroit, right now. Here are the early lines at FanDuel , DraftKings and ESPN Bet (currently unavailable):

    Sportsbook Lions Vikings O/U
    FanDuel +1.5 (-102 ML) -1.5 (-116 ML) 48.5
    DraftKings +1.5 (+102 ML) -1.5 (-122 ML) 48.5
    ESPN Bet NA NA NA

As you can see, the sportsbooks are trying to give the Minnesota Vikings the benefit of the doubt, but the moneyline odds tell a different story. Detroit is currently a 1.5 point underdog at both DraftKings and FanDuel, but you actually have to bet $102 on the money line (straight up) to win $100.

That’s a rare thing to see for a 1.5 point favorite. In other words, this line looks like it is about to shift toward Detroit, so if you like the Vikings to win, you may be better off holding out. If you like the Lions next weekend at U.S. Bank Stadium, then you might want to think about getting your bets in on the spread right now.
