General Hospital fans slammed Laura Spencer during the latest episode for giving her son Lucky "a free pass" after "13 years of being a deadbeat dad."

During the latest episode of General Hospital , fans were left fuming at Laura as she seemed to let Lucky off the hook for all of the chaos he's created in Port Charles and for being an absent father to his children. This comes as last episode Lucky has been wreaking havoc in town after the emotional discovery that he's not going to be able to save his sister Lulu's life .

After he broke the news to his mother, Laura lovingly consoled him and assured that he was a good person despite the mistakes he has made in his past. During their heart-to-heart, Laura assured her son that he shouldn't feel guilty for being an adventurous spirit and likened him to his father.

During a heartfelt mother-son moment, Laura said to Lucky: "You are good. You're a good man who strives to be a better man all the time, and to help others." He added: "You're so much like your father and for God's sake, you were on the run with us from the time you were a little baby."

And as Laura seemingly coddled Lucky for his behavior, General Hospital fans were not as easy on him and feel that he needs to take accountability for his actions. On X, formerly Twitter, one viewer wrote: "I know Laura loves Lucky, but she is giving him a free pass on 13 years of being a deadbeat dad and I'm not okay with that. All I hear from Lucky is, 'Me, me, me.'"

And another fan agreed: "Yes and look at how hard she was on Nic. She pretty much made him turn himself in, telling him how he needed to be accountable for his actions and yet she gives Lucky a pass." And another chimed in: "Yeah it's not cool or realistic." While a third wrote: "'Me! Me! Me!' is classic Lucky and Laura's sole purpose recently has been to absolve a serial killer because of a bad hip, so I guess this is classic Laura, as well."

But others defended Laura's behavior, as one supporter wrote: "Pretty sure she isn’t going to pile on her son when he is obviously at a low point. What possible good would that do in their first convo? And he had already acknowledged that to her and she said 'I am not going to comment on that' meaning she agreed with him." And someone else agreed: "Right, she is encouraging him. She needs him there now. The tongue lashing can come later."
